I have a passion for taking the road less traveled, finding new locations to fish & dive, and documenting my trips through stories and photographs. Although I am new to diving, I have been fly fishing for over 40 years, and operated a guided fly fishing business in Colorado for over 10 years.
I have fly fished trout in every state west of the Rockies, and chased bonefish & tarpon in Belize, Florida, Mexico and the Virgin Islands.
My diving experience has all been in the Caribbean with trips to the BVI, Bonaire & Mexico, and I am finding a new love... underwater photography.
My dad started taking me fishing when I was about 5 years old in Oregon. I would watch him fly fish, and could hardly wait for the day I could cast with such grace. Thankfully, I only had to wait about 8 more years.
Diving, on the other hand, has been a love-hate relationship for over 30 years. I loved snorkeling, but could never stay down long enough, so I did several resort dives using crummy gear and swore I'd never get certified. My wife & travel partner, Sandra, convinced me to try it one last time. Diving with great gear, and the patient instructors & staff at High Plains Scuba, I finally was able to begin to enjoy diving. I only wish I had started sooner.
